We need an influential person with industry relevant experience for a paid board position, advising us and helping us improve our network.

How much time can you commit? You set your own hours - whether that's one hour a month or several. We pay CA$2,000-3,000 per month regardless of hours committed.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), founded in 2004, is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing electronic waste and bridging the digital divide. ERA focuses on repurposing unwanted computers and electronic equipment, enabling their secondary use by low-income families and organizations in Canada. With operations across major cities like Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and more, ERA ensures convenient donation and pick-up services nationwide. By promoting reuse over disposal, ERA supports cleaner communities, prevents e-waste in landfills, and helps local charities and individuals. Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Board Member at ERA, located in Montreal, QC. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership to guide ERA's mission and vision while ensuring the organization operates with integrity and accountability. Board Members will contribute to decision-making, advise on policies, support organizational fundraising efforts, and foster partnerships within the community. Active engagement in monitoring ERA's progress toward its strategic objectives and leveraging personal or professional networks for advocacy and resource development is essential to this role. Additional commitments include attending scheduled board meetings, reviewing reports, and participating in committees to support ERA's goals.

Qualifications

- Leadership, decision-making, and governance experience

- Strategic planning and organizational management skills

- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

- Experience in environmental sustainability, non-profit operations, or social impact initiatives

- Knowledge of financial oversight, fundraising strategies, or community engagement

- Commitment to ERA's mission and values in reducing e-waste and bridging the digital divide

- Diverse professional and personal networks to foster advocacy and partnerships

- Previous board or leadership experience is an asset but not mandatory

Pay: $2,000.00-$3,000.00 per month
