General Manager - Squamish Canyon

Location: Squamish, British Columbia, Canada

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports To: Vice President, Operations, Ridge North America

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000

Just outside Squamish, on the banks of the Mamquam River, Squamish Canyon invites guests to experience the Sea to Sky region’s coastal rainforest from a whole new vantage point. Elevated boardwalks and a cantilevered bridge carry visitors through the forest and along the canyon’s edge, offering sweeping views while keeping the footprint on the landscape light. A forest lounge with food, drinks, and a family play area makes it an easy, accessible day out for guests of all ages.

As part of Ridge North America’s portfolio of mountain and adventure destinations across Western Canada, Squamish Canyon combines a strong local identity with the resources, support, and shared expertise of a growing, multi-property group. Our team is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences, caring for the landscape we operate in, and building a workplace where people can grow their careers.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a General Manager to lead this team into its next chapter, with full accountability for operations, guest experience, financial performance, and a seasonal workforce that makes the Canyon what it is.

The GM leads attraction, food & beverage, retail, maintenance, and guest services, making sure the property operates effectively, guests receive great service, and revenue and margin targets are met.

This role supports Ridge North America's growth in the attraction space. It calls for someone who can manage the business, build a capable team who provide exceptional hospitality, and care for the outdoor environment in which the property operates.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Operations Leadership

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all departments including Attractions, Food & Beverage, Retail, Maintenance, and Guest Services.
  • Drive and champion operating standards, safety procedures, and hospitality expectations in each operating department.
  • Prepare and carry out seasonal operating plans, staffing plans, and opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure operations teams are scalable for future investments into the property.

Financial Performance

  • Take responsibility for the property P&L, including revenue, cost control, and EBITDA targets.
  • Prepare and manage annual operating budgets and capital expenditure requests.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly performance measures and address shortfalls.
  • Grow revenue across admissions, F&B, retail, group sales, and private events.

Team Development & Culture

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop department leaders and front-line staff.
  • Set clear expectations, keep the team focused on guests, and improve how the property operates.
  • Manage performance reviews, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Support workplace safety, staff wellbeing, and a positive working environment.

Guest Experience

  • Set clear guest service standards and make sure each department follows them.
  • Review guest satisfaction results and use feedback to improve operations.
  • Make sure the property meets Ridge North America brand standards.

Stakeholder & Community Relations

  • Act as Ridge North America's main local representative in Squamish and surrounding areas.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous partners, local government, tourism organizations, and the community.
  • Care for the environment and support sustainable operating practices that reflect company values.

Sales, Marketing & Revenue Growth

  • Work with Ridge North America's marketing and sales teams to effectively carry out sales and marketing plans.
  • Support group sales, tour operator partnerships, and corporate events.
  • Find and develop new revenue opportunities that fit the property as it grows.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in resort, outdoor attraction, hospitality, or multi-venue operations.
  • Experience managing a P&L and delivering strong financial and operating results.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams of 50+ employees across seasonal and year-round operations.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in an outdoor or adventure focused environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred

  • Experience with zip lines, ropes courses, suspension bridges, or adventure attractions.
  • Familiarity with the Sea-to-Sky tourism market in British Columbia.
  • Prior experience in a branded or multi-property hospitality or attractions company.

WHAT RIDGE NORTH AMERICA OFFERS

This role offers the chance to lead Squamish Canyon as it grows, with the following compensation and benefits:

  • Competitive base salary based on experience.
  • Performance-based annual bonus.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, including a health spending account.
  • Access to all Ridge North America properties and experiences.
  • An outdoor workplace in beautiful Squamish, British Columbia.
