About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable E-Bike & Electric Scooter Repair Technician to join our technical service team. In this role, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide variety of personal electric vehicles (PEVs), including electric bicycles, e-scooters, and related smart gadgets.

The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude combined with a solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, battery diagnostics, and motor controllers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform thorough electrical and mechanical diagnostic checks on e-bikes and electric scooters to identify root causes of malfunctions.
  • Electrical Repairs: Inspect, repair, and replace electrical components including lithium-ion batteries, brushless DC motors, controllers, displays, throttle assemblies, wiring harnesses, and sensors.
  • Mechanical Servicing: Perform standard bicycle and scooter maintenance, including hydraulic brake bleeds/adjustments, tire/tube replacements, drivetrain tuning, suspension servicing, and frame structural checks.
  • Assembly & Quality Assurance: Assemble new e-bikes/scooters from shipping crates, perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI), and complete post-repair test rides to ensure road safety and quality standards.
  • Work Order Management: Document all service work, parts used, and labor hours accurately in the shop management system.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate technical issues and repair estimates clearly to customers or team leads in a friendly, approachable manner.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on technical experience repairing e-bikes, electric scooters, or light electric vehicles (LEVs).
  • Electrical Knowledge: Proficiency in using multimeter tools to test voltage, resistance, and continuity; basic soldering skills and wiring connector repair.
  • Mechanical Skills: Expert knowledge of standard bicycle mechanics (brakes, gears, wheels) and scooter mechanics (folding mechanisms, solid/pneumatic tires, drum/disc brakes).
  • Battery Safety: Familiarity with lithium-ion battery handling, safety protocols, and BMS (Battery Management System) basics.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs independently and stand/maneuver tools for extended periods.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and a team-first mindset.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience in an e-commerce or retail service center environment.
  • Certification in bicycle mechanics (e.g., Park Tool, Barnett's) or vendor-specific e-bike systems (e.g., Bosch, Shimano Steps, Bafang).
  • Valid driver’s license (if local parts pickup or mobile repair service is needed).

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
