Full job description

CAREER OPPORTUNITY | Edmonton, Alberta | Full-time, primarily office-based

Build relationships. Solve real problems. Grow your impact.

At EDL Building Solutions, we bring peace of mind to building owners and operators through reliability, comfort and efficiency. We are looking for an electrical expert who can turn customer relationships and technical insight into practical, profitable solutions.

This is a balanced sales and estimating role. You will grow existing accounts, win new customers and develop accurate estimates for commercial service, maintenance, retrofits and upgrades in occupied buildings. You will work with a multi-trade team across electrical, HVAC/R, plumbing and building automation.

What You’ll Do

  • Build lasting relationships with building owners, property managers and facility teams; identify needs and opportunities through regular customer visits and proactive follow-up.
  • Develop new business through prospecting, referrals, networking and thoughtful, relationship-led outreach.
  • Lead electrical site assessments, scope development, labour and material takeoffs, estimating and proposal preparation for service, retrofit and project opportunities.
  • Present clear, well-priced turnkey solutions, explain options and value, and help customers make confident decisions.
  • Collaborate with service, estimating, operations and project teams on multi-trade opportunities, accurate handoffs and excellent customer experiences.
  • Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline, account activity and forecasts; monitor supplier pricing and identify value-engineering opportunities.

What You Bring

  • Journeyperson Electrician certification required; Master Electrician certification strongly preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant commercial electrical estimating experience, ideally in service, maintenance, retrofit and existing-building upgrades.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, assess site conditions, prepare takeoffs and develop accurate scopes and estimates using Bluebeam, Excel and related tools.
  • Confidence building customer relationships, presenting technical solutions and balancing account growth with estimating deadlines.
  • A proactive, results-focused approach with sound commercial judgment, strong follow-through and collaborative communication.
  • Experience selling or coordinating HVAC/R, plumbing, building automation or BMS solutions is an asset.

What We Offer

  • Annual base salary of $91,650–$126,534, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Uncapped commission opportunity, with expected annual commissions of approximately $30,000–$70,000, subject to performance and plan terms.
  • Additional incentive opportunity of up to 10% of annual base salary, subject to plan terms.
  • Company-paid benefits, life insurance, three weeks’ vacation, 40 hours of paid personal time and a 5% RRSP match.
  • Company phone, required PPE, development opportunities and team activities.

How You’ll Work

Based primarily at EDL’s Edmonton office, with regular customer meetings, sales visits and site assessments. A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to customer and project sites are required.

Ready to Build Something Great?

If you bring electrical expertise, commercial curiosity and the drive to build lasting customer partnerships, apply through this job posting. We look forward to learning what you could bring to EDL.
