Role

The Electrical Base Maintenance Group (BMG) Supervisor develops and supervises the execution of the Preventive Maintenance plan. Ensures systematic failure, problem and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities. Supports the Engineering area in the research and assessment of the best equipment available and the start up of new pieces of equipment. Your role will encompass hands-on technical support, team leadership, and the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance actions to uphold equipment reliability and availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the application of health, safety and environment standards and practices. To comply with HSE procedures, report any incident or observation, perform inspections and participate in the investigation process. Implement the preventive/corrective actions. Keep updated the risk analysis and the environmental aspect assessment.
  • Responsible for performance management of direct reports by consistently applying the CBA and annual performance reviews. This position is a key component in the Maintenance Process.
  • Optimizes reliability and maintainability of equipment by defining the maintenance strategy for each system, developing and supervising the execution of the Preventive Maintenance plan, ensuring systematic failure, problem and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities, providing technical support to emergency crews and staff areas.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the mill to foster employee engagement, communication and assess work process effectiveness within the team.
  • Draws up the maintenance cost budget and keep costs within agreed limits.
  • Guarantees technical resource availability, ensuring a suitable minimum stock.
  • Manages and updates the maintenance information system and technical documentation, keeping record of the information related to their area.
  • Supports the Engineering area in the research and assessment of the best equipment available and the startup of new pieces of equipment. In addition, support other areas in the definitions related to their area of responsibility.
  • Interacts with internal and/or external contacts with a higher level of autonomy.
  • Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
  • Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with and develops their staff and manages HR related activities in line with HR norms and procedures. Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to their area.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in Industrial maintenance, trades work or hands-on engineering technician is an asset.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Trade (442a preferred), Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Applicant must be able to read mechanica and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Applicant must be familiar with manufacturing environment safety procedures.
  • Previous experience with PLC, VFD, AC/DC motors, sensors and High Frequency heating equipment is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with SAP PM considered an asset.

Scope of Machines & Equipment:

Finishing: Industrial online pipe cutting machine, hydro tester equipment for oil and gas pipes, online coupling buck on machine for oil and gas pipes, walking beam handling equipment, roll conveyor lines, gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, grease lubrication systems, and oil hydraulic systems, pumps and valves (directional and proportional).

Hot Rolling Mill: Oil hydraulic systems, pumps and valves (directional and proportional), centralized lubrication systems, grease Lubrication systems, roll conveyor lines, industrial pipe handling (rotary arms, chains, levers and kicks), gearboxes above 1700 kW, hydraulic cylinders and rotary actuators, furnace handling (beams, levers, rolls refractory steel), and walking beam systems.

Schedule & Working Conditions:

  • 8hr Days – with flexibility based on business needs.
  • On-call rotation.
  • Work is performed in a steel manufacturing mill.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $93,000.00 – $129,000.00 annually.

Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market considerations.
