You're a highly collaborative, detail-oriented designer who can translate UX direction into polished, high-impact visual solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create high-fidelity UI designs and rapid prototypes for new and existing game features.
- Contribute to the UI visual language including iconography, typography, hierarchy, and brand expression aligned with the NHL visual identity.
- Help shape and maintain our UI design system to ensure consistency across the product.
- Collaborate with Producers, UX Designers, and Engineers to identify opportunities and understand player needs.
- Ensure your design solutions consider technical feasibility, scope, and production realities.
- Participate in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback grounded in product goals.
- Present design rationale clearly to partners across disciplines.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in visual design, UI/UX, or product design roles.
- Strong visual design craft, including layout, composition, typography, color, illustration, and iconography.
- Understanding of usability principles and designing for accessibility, diversity, and inclusivity.
- Proficiency in interaction design, prototyping, and high-fidelity visual execution.
- Experience presenting and articulating design decisions to cross-functional teams.
- A portfolio showcasing thoughtful design process and strong visual craft.
- Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- BA/BS degree (or equivalent experience) in Design, HCI, Interactive Media, or a related field.
Bonus:
- Experience working in games, live service products, or interactive entertainment.
