Nickel Plumbing & Heating has been in the service industry providing Plumbing, Heating, Refrigeration since 1968

Core Responsibilities

  • Installation and Repair: Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, drainage systems, and fixtures like sinks, toilets, and bathtubs.
  • Heating Systems: Service, install, and maintain gas and oil-fired central heating systems, boilers, radiators, and air-conditioning units.
  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose issues in water and heating systems, often using AI-powered diagnostic tools that analyze real-time data to pinpoint problems quickly and accurately.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to understand system layouts and ensure correct installation.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work complies with local and national building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to explain issues, propose solutions, provide cost estimates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage job details, track time, log billable hours, prepare invoices, and schedule appointments using industry-specific software or AI-enabled tools.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency call-outs, such as burst pipes, broken boilers, or clogged drains.

The positions are based out of Saskatoon and will require the ability to work and travel throughout the surrounding area. A work vehicle will be provided.

Qualifications & Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid plumbing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing.
  • Knowledge of water supply, drainage systems, and related codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various conditions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Well developed organizational & communication skills.
  • Working towards/or having your Domestic or Commercial Gas License.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and a willingness to problem solve.
  • Ability to interact with a residential or commercial based customer.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid plumbing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing.
  • Knowledge of water supply, drainage systems, and related codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various conditions.

Additional Assets:

  • Experience in residential plumbing & heating.
  • Experience in commercial plumbing & heating.
  • Service experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing & heating
  • The willingness to ask questions when needed and continuous learning.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48.00-$55.00 per hour
