Full job description

Construction Field Supervisor – Low-Rise Residential Concrete & Drain
Donald Group | Etobicoke, Ontario | Greater Toronto Area
$85,000–$110,000 base salary + company vehicle + benefits
Full-time · Year-round · Field-based

An opportunity for an experienced leader

Donald Group has been building low-rise residential concrete and drain across the Greater Toronto Area since 1953. We’re a family-owned company operating across approximately 50 sites from Niagara to Bowmanville, with an average employee tenure of 12 years.

We’re looking for an experienced field leader who has already managed construction crews and foremen, understands low-rise residential construction, and knows how to improve performance using facts, numbers, and sound judgment.

This is not an entry-level supervisory role. You’ll be responsible for leading multiple crews across active sites, holding foremen accountable for results, and ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, to the required quality standards, and within budget.

You’ll also help improve the systems used to measure and manage field productivity. We value leaders who can do more than keep work moving: they identify why problems occur and make lasting improvements.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concrete and drain crews, through their foremen, across several active residential construction sites.
  • Manage daily execution, scheduling, labour productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Identify schedule slippage, productivity problems, and quality issues early, then take corrective action.
  • Use Excel and operational data to track results, identify trends, and support field decisions.
  • Conduct site audits and maintain consistent standards across crews and projects.
  • Coordinate with builders, municipal inspectors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve field issues.
  • Improve processes, strengthen accountability, and implement practical changes that deliver measurable results.

What you must bring

  • Relevant field leadership: At least five years of progressive supervisory or coordination experience in low-rise residential construction, with demonstrable responsibility for crew performance.
  • Multi-crew experience: Evidence of coordinating multiple crews or foremen across concurrent sites, not solely supervising individual tasks on a single site.
  • Concrete and drain knowledge: Direct experience with low-rise residential concrete and drain operations is strongly preferred.
  • Analytical ability: Strong Excel skills and the ability to track productivity, understand costs, interpret performance data, and make decisions based on evidence.
  • Continuous improvement: Examples of identifying operational problems and implementing changes that improved productivity, quality, scheduling, or cost control.
  • Leadership under pressure: The confidence to hold experienced foremen accountable, resolve conflicts, and make timely decisions.
  • Education: A diploma in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Availability and mobility: Willingness to start around 5:30 a.m., travel between sites throughout the GTA, and live a commutable distance to our Etobicoke office.

What this role offers

  • $85,000–$110,000 annual base salary, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Company vehicle for the field-based role.
  • Extended health and dental benefits.
  • 3% RRSP match.
  • Full-time, year-round employment with an established family-owned company.
  • Direct responsibility for field results and the opportunity to improve how operations are managed.

Understand the working environment

This is an active field leadership position. You’ll typically start around 5:30 a.m., travel between construction sites, and spend your day working with crews, foremen, builders, and suppliers. You’ll be expected to make decisions, solve problems in real time, and take ownership of performance.

Shortlisted candidates will complete the PXT Select assessment.

How to apply

Please submit your resume. If you can, answer the following questions briefly.

  • Crew leadership: What types of crews have you led, how many crews or foremen were you responsible for simultaneously, and what was your level of accountability?
  • Operational results: Describe a specific improvement you implemented in productivity, quality, scheduling, or cost control. What did you change, and what result did it produce?
  • Numbers and systems: What operational metrics have you tracked, and how have you used Excel or other tools to identify problems and improve field performance?

We will contact candidates selected for an interview.

Donald Group welcomes applications from qualified individuals of all backgrounds and provides accommodations throughout the hiring process.
