Full job description

Gold Bond Canada, Ltd. operates a large open-pit gypsum mine in Milford, NS. We are a team-based organization relying on progressive operating techniques to stay a leader in a very competitive market environment. In addition to the quarry, the facility consists of a dock site location in Dartmouth, which has train unloading and ship loading components.

We are seeking to fill a Stacker Operator position at our Dartmouth dock site location.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting RC Shunter operator in unloading railcars.
  • Safely working in an active railyard and around conveyor systems.
  • Cleaning and preparing industrial worksite.
  • Operating heavy equipment in a stockpile. Dozer experience working in a stockpile and experience with Cat D9/10 or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Operating and tending machinery and light equipment including 2 ton excavator, and 5 ton loader.
  • Assisting in ship loading operations, working occasional 12-hour day or night shifts as required by the shipping schedule.
  • Following instructions from supervisors and implementing work plans.
  • Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.
  • General laboring and assisting with maintaining general site tidiness, assisting in operation of tools and equipment; cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Assisting in maintaining site safety and security including following Marine Transport Security Regulations.
  • Liaising with shift supervisors and other site workers and performing jobs as they arise.
  • Work using your own initiative within specified parameters – do not wait to be asked.
  • Ensure compliance with codes of practice and legislation, including health and safety.
  • Maintain accurate worksheets and records/documentation associated with your work.
  • Strong communication, safety focused, positive teamwork, and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Rotating shifts; day shift, afternoon shift, and back shift.

Candidates must be currently able to work in Nova Scotia when applying for the job.

Hourly rate will increase March 31, 2026 to $32.13
