The successful candidate will have an established network of architects, interior designers and design firms, along with a proven ability to influence product specifications and develop long-term relationships within the design community. While experience working with builders and developers is considered an asset, this role is first and foremost focused on growing CIOT's presence within the A&D community and converting design relationships into profitable project opportunities.

Reporting to the Director of Sales – Ontario, this individual will lead the A&D team, develop strategic market initiatives and help strengthen CIOT's position as the premier specification partner for premium architectural surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop CIOT's Architectural & Design sales team.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with leading architects, interior designers, design firms and other specification influencers throughout Ontario.
  • Drive product specifications by positioning CIOT as the preferred partner during the design and material selection process.
  • Identify and cultivate new specification opportunities across commercial, hospitality, multi-residential, institutional and luxury residential projects.
  • Deliver compelling product presentations, Lunch & Learns, CEU programs and design consultations to the A&D community.
  • Manage project opportunities from specification through quotation, award and final installation in collaboration with internal sales teams.
  • Develop strategic relationships with key builders and developers to support project conversion and long-term business growth.
  • Work closely with Operations, Marketing, Customer Experience and Sales Support to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity and emerging design opportunities.
  • Provide leadership with market intelligence and strategic recommendations to support continued growth.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Architectural & Design, specification sales or premium building materials.
  • An established network of architects, interior designers and design firms within the Ontario market.
  • Demonstrated success influencing architectural specifications and generating project-based sales.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven leadership experience developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • College diploma or university degree in Business, Architecture, Interior Design or a related discipline.

Preferred

  • Experience within the stone, porcelain, tile or premium architectural materials industry.
  • Existing relationships with builders and developers.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and project pipeline management.

Why Join CIOT?

  • Join one of North America's most respected brands in premium architectural surfaces.
  • Work with industry-leading products sourced from around the world.
  • Lead an established and growing A&D team.
  • Competitive compensation and performance incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including dental, extended health, disability and life insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • Career advancement and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborative culture focused on innovation, design and excellence.
