LABOURER - Job Posting

Winmar provides emergency and reconstruction services to homes, businesses, industrial and institutional properties after they have been damaged by fire, water, sewage, mould, asbestos, vehicle impacts, etc.

The basic role of a Labourer is to assist skilled tradespersons and perform activities at the company’s projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform basic construction, tear down, cleaning tasks, use of hand and power tools
2. Be available to respond to emergencies on an on call basis
3. Perform the work required as deemed necessary by the job supervisor.
4. Work in compliance with Staff Policies and Health and Safety Policies.

Permanent, Full Time, On Call, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening

Education

Grade 11

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc)

WHMIS, First Aid an asset

Experience

6 mths - 1 yr.

Security and Safety

Bondable, Criminal Record Check (reimbursed by employer), Driving Record Check

Languages

Speak English, Read English, Write English

Transportation/Travel Information

Must Hold Valid Driver’s Licence

Own Tools/Equipment

Steel-Toed Safety Boots, Hard Hat

Specific Skills

Load, unload and transport construction materials. Assist in demolishing buildings, clean and pile salvaged materials, remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job this individual must have a full range of body movement including walking, standing, sitting, lifting floor to waist, lifting waist to shoulder, stair climbing, ladder climbing and bending or twisting. There may be times when this individual will be operating motorized equipment and power tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
