Business Development Manager

Build Relationships. Create Opportunities. Grow the Salisbury Brand.

Salisbury is looking for a Business Development Manager who knows how to build relationships and turn those relationships into measurable business growth.

This role works across both Salisbury Landscaping and Salisbury Greenhouses, with a strong focus on developing relationships that generate qualified opportunities for our Design Build team, while also creating partnerships and programs that increase awareness, customer traffic and sales within our Greenhouses.

This isn't about waiting for leads to come in. We’re looking for someone who will get into the community and industry, open doors, build connections and create new opportunities for Salisbury.

What You’ll Do

Grow Salisbury Landscaping through relationships.

  • Build and maintain a referral network of home builders, renovators, realtors, developers, suppliers, designers and complementary businesses. These partners should reliably introduce prospective Landscaping clients.
  • Identify potential clients for Landscaping Design Build, Carpentry, Maintenance and Enhancements services.
  • Qualify each opportunity, then connect the right prospects with Salisbury's Landscape Sales team.

Develop strategic partnerships.

  • Identify organizations and individuals who can become long-term referral partners. Building relationships that generate recurring opportunities rather than one-time leads, and look for ways one partnership can create opportunities across multiple Salisbury services.

Grow Greenhouse awareness and customer engagement.

  • Develop partnerships and initiatives that introduce new customers to Salisbury Greenhouses, strengthen brand awareness, increase customer traffic and support sales. Work with Marketing and Retail leadership to identify new ways to connect Salisbury with businesses, community organizations and prospective customers.

Build fundraising and community programs.

  • Develop and test fundraising opportunities with schools, sports teams, charities, community groups and other organizations. Create programs that generate revenue for participating organizations while introducing new customers to Salisbury's Greenhouses, products, workshops and seasonal offerings.

Create new channels for growth.

  • Develop referral programs, corporate partnerships, community relationships, events and other customer-acquisition channels beyond traditional advertising and inbound leads. Test what works and help turn successful ideas into repeatable programs.

Build and manage the pipeline.

  • Maintain a qualified pipeline of opportunities, consistently prospect for new business, track relationships and follow-ups through CRM, and identify gaps before they affect growth targets.

Who We're Looking For

You are someone who creates opportunities rather than waits for them. You enjoy meeting people, networking, developing relationships and finding ways for those relationships to create business.

You bring experience in Business Development, relationship-based sales, along with strong communication, networking and follow-through. You're comfortable approaching business owners, community organizations and industry professionals, and you understand how to turn a connection into a long-term business relationship.

Experience in landscaping, horticulture, construction, home improvement, retail or another relationship-driven industry is an asset.

Why Salisbury?

Salisbury brings together landscape design and construction, maintenance, carpentry, enhancements, commercial and custom planters, workshops and retail garden centers, creating multiple ways for one strong relationship to grow into something bigger.

If you're energized by building a network, increasing brand awareness and creating relationships that drive sales, we'd like to hear from you.

Pay: $80,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Dental care
  • Disability insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Extended health care
