Full job description

Engineering Department-Junior Mining EIT

Mount Polley Mining Corporation (MPMC) has two positions available for permanent, full-time Junior EITs. The schedule will be fourteen (14) twelve (12) hour day shifts of work, followed by fourteen (14) days of rest. Camp accommodations provided.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, these positions are responsible for providing technical expertise and assistance to the Technical Services Department in their efforts to achieve departmental and site objectives.

Working with the Mine Engineering team, the Junior EIT’s will hold a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Short-range open pit planning
  • Site project planning and design
  • Engineering modelling and design
  • Modelling and analysis of production data
  • Field recording and reporting

With safety as a core value, the junior EIT will provide technical and operational expertise to the company while becoming a valuable member of the Technical Services Department. The candidate will also be responsible for reporting on departmental progress, as well as identifying and developing continual improvement areas to support the needs of the operation.

Requirements of the position:

  • Bachelors degree in Mine Engineering (or related)
  • Must have working rights in Canada
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid Drivers License

Assets:

  • Holding or working towards a P.Eng designation
  • Having previous related mining experience, but is not a requirement; other combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
