Full job description

**REMOTE WORK IS NOT POSSIBLE. The position is located at our Saskatoon Head Office. You must be located within or in proximity to the Saskatoon area, or be willing to relocate at your own expense.

This in-person role plays a critical part in implementing both operational and strategic goals in our daily business. Its a great opportunity for a seasoned chef to move into an administrative role, for a fast-growing Indigenous-owned organization.

Requirements:

- Management experience in the food services industry.

- Demonstrated experience in cost projection, coupled with analyzing & interpreting financial data.

- Ability to strategically plan & manage resources.

- Experience in large volume meal planning, ordering, & preparation.

- Effectively communicate and interact with employees at all levels, as well as external partners & stakeholders.

- Occasional travel to remote fly-in/drive-in mine sites or camps.

Duties & Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Designing menu cycles for our evolving client base.

- Conducting menu reviews with clients.

- Knowing & understanding client contract requirements.

- Working understanding of the balance between food costs & contract requirements.

- Design special meals as clients require, while considering special dietary needs.

- Build recipes for all menus and special dietary requirements.

- Educate and support culinary teams at site on proper food safety & HAACP systems

- Visit site locations.

- Support the implementation of corporate sponsored community events.

- Be strategic in food supply chain management.

- Develop & implement operational policies and procedures; ensure compliance.

- Deal with problems quickly & efficiently.

- Educate on best practices for inventory management.

- Monitor purchasing to ensure compliance with menus.

- Guide and mentor Chefs with the preparation of all foodstuffs according to the menu and number of persons to be served, with a focus on quality, appearance, adequate production and stocking levels in all serving areas, and minimizing leftovers and product waste.
