We are looking for a Designer and you will report to the Design Manager, and will be responsible creating and executing designs for clients in custom cabinets, and closets, and assist in leading the design team.

Responsibilities

· Design and prepare detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, charts and/or scale drawings for cabinetry projects from observation, measurements, sketches, specifications, and clients needs

· Assist clients choose colors, styles, and visualize their needs using offered tools such as physical colored samples, handle boards, countertop samples, dedicated software such as Cabinet Vision 2D and 3D features

· Make basic computations to determine layout of charts, strength of materials and requirements for structural design

· Produce detailed, final install drawings and specifications using dedicated computer software (Cabinet Vision CAD) to produce design specifications, including parts lists and cost information

· Ensure the quality of design, drawings and graphic work produced is to the highest degree of detail as per provided template and requirement

· Communicate to Design Manager for non-standard cabinetry request from client to prepare the correct design and cost

· Prepare order files in a timely manner and working closely with other designers to review each orders and make revisions to reflect the provided templates and internal requirements;

· Work closely with the Order Desk team to review the order files and prepare any required detailed drawings

· Brainstorm as part of a team or developing design concepts using CAD (computer-aided design), and other traditional design tools

· Ensure proper documentation of all work, products are relevant

· Pay close attention to install date communicating with Scheduling department and communicate with assigned installer on the install date to sort out any question, clarifying any detailed requested by client

· Work closely with Service team to sort out and resolve any service requirements per job as requested and troubleshoot issues that arise

· Work within the design process from concept through completion and ensure all designs meet quality standards and exceed the client's expectations

· Collaborate with the Design team to assist in design strategy for the company

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery and highest quality materials and goods

Experience

· Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Design, or a related field preferred

· 1-3 years of Product design experience

· Expert proficiency in using CAD based software such as Microvellum, Mozaik, Cabinet Vision, or other preferred. Cabinet Vision is an asset

· Strong working knowledge of design software including (Auto Cad or similar software, Cabinet vision) software suites.

· Strong Customer Service skills

· Time Management
