Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and innovative Design Engineer to join our engineering team in the design and development of agricultural tillage equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for creating durable, high-performance equipment that meets the needs of today's farmers while balancing manufacturability, cost, reliability, and serviceability.

  • Design and develop new tillage equipment and improve existing product lines.
  • Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Perform engineering calculations and structural analysis to validate designs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and production-ready.
  • Support prototype builds, field testing, and product validation.
  • Investigate design issues and implement continuous product improvements.
  • Work with suppliers to specify components and evaluate new technologies.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and company quality requirements.
  • Provide technical support to production, sales, and service departments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a combination of related education and experience
  • One to five years of design experience
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with agricultural equipment (farming background) is considered an asset
  • Eligibility for registration in a professional engineering association
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain and understand technical ideas and concepts
  • Ability to understand and read product drawings
  • Capable of managing multiple ongoing projects
  • Knowledge of computers and software (AS400, Microsoft Office®, AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Occasional work in the manufacturing shop to support prototype builds and product development
  • Occasional visits to farms and other test sites
