Full job description
We are seeking a Machine Operator to operate the Brake Press Operator to join our fabrication team. This role is responsible for operating the brake press equipment to cut and form steel, stainless steel, and aluminum according to shop drawings and production schedules. The ideal candidate has experience in metal fabrication, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate brake press equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules
- Measure and prepare materials to required specifications
- Inspect parts for quality and accuracy
- Safely handle materials using overhead cranes or other equipment
- Keep machines and work areas clean and organized
- Support other fabrication equipment and general shop duties as required
Qualifications
- Experience operating shear and/or press brake preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Experience with forklifts or overhead cranes is an asset
