Full job description

Metro Traffic Management is hiring experienced Traffic Control Persons (TCPs), Lane Closure Technicians (LCTs), and Highway Truck LCTs for immediate start.

North Vancouver, Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Surrey, Delta, Langley, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford, Mission, and Chilliwack.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday availability required
  • Some weekend work may be required

Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control equipment at job sites
  • Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely and efficiently
  • Follow approved traffic control plans and company safety procedures
  • Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and the public
  • Monitor site conditions and adjust traffic control measures as needed
  • Maintain a safe work zone for workers, drivers, and pedestrians
  • Complete required safety checks and report hazards or incidents promptly

For TCPs

  • Must have your own vehicle to travel to work locations
  • Public transit is not a suitable option for these job sites
  • Valid driver’s license required

For LCTs

  • Must provide a clean driver’s abstract
  • Valid driver’s license required

General Qualifications

  • Able to stand for long hours
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Strong commitment to safety and following traffic control plans

About the Role

As a Traffic Controller / TCP / LCT, you will play a key role in maintaining the safe and efficient flow of traffic around construction and work zones. You will help protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians by following approved traffic control procedures and safety standards.
