Full job description

LOVE DOGS? COME WORK WITH US!

Posh Pooch Hotel & Daycare is looking for a reliable, hardworking Dog Daycare & Boarding Attendant with a future transition into Front Desk & Customer Service to join our team!

If you love animals, enjoy staying active and are comfortable helping customers, this could be a great fit for you.

You will begin working in the back with the dogs, learning our animal-care routines, safety procedures and daily operations. Once you have a solid understanding of how our facility runs and are confident in these responsibilities, you may have the opportunity to receive training to transition into front desk and customer service duties.

We’re looking for someone who is happy to start with hands-on animal care and interested in eventually helping our clients at the front desk. The timing of this transition will depend on your training progress, readiness and the needs of the facility. Flexibility to assist with animal care and cleaning will remain part of the role.

Working in a dog daycare is rewarding, but it is also physical, busy, loud and messy! Our attendants keep the dogs in our care safe, happy and comfortable while maintaining a clean and organized facility.

What You’ll Be Doing

Starting with dog daycare and boarding care:

  • Supervising daycare groups and monitoring dog behavior
  • Safely grouping and rotating dogs for play and rest
  • Helping prevent and appropriately respond to conflicts between dogs
  • Feeding dogs and administering oral medications as directed
  • Cleaning and sanitizing kennels and boarding areas
  • Scooping poop and cleaning accidents
  • Mopping and pressure washing play areas
  • Washing and sanitizing dishes
  • Bathing, brushing and assisting with nail trims
  • Completing general cleaning and facility duties
  • Working with the team to provide excellent care for every animal staying with us

As you transition into front desk and customer service:

  • Greeting clients and assisting with pet drop-offs and pickups
  • Answering phone calls, emails and customer questions
  • Helping clients with daycare, boarding and service reservations
  • Processing payments and explaining rates and policies
  • Updating client and pet records accurately
  • Sharing care updates with clients and communicating important information to the animal-care team
  • Keeping the front desk and lobby clean and organized

Training will be provided for both animal-care and front desk responsibilities.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Hardworking and willing to jump in wherever needed
  • A positive team player
  • A self-starter who can work independently after training
  • A fast learner who is comfortable receiving feedback and coaching
  • Confident and comfortable around dogs of all sizes
  • Able to multitask in a busy environment
  • Observant and attentive to changes in dog behavior
  • Comfortable with cleaning and the messy side of animal care
  • Friendly, professional and comfortable speaking with customers
  • A clear communicator, both in person and in writing
  • Customer service/reception experience
  • Strong computer skills are essential
  • Organized, detail-oriented and comfortable learning computer systems
  • Able to stay calm and courteous during busy periods
  • Physically capable of being active and on their feet for most of the shift
  • Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Previous customer service or reception experience is an asset.

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are also required.

Availability

Hours range from 25–40 hours per week, with the potential for full-time hours.

Posh Pooch operates seven days a week, and shifts may be scheduled between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday.

Weekend and statutory holiday availability is required.

Please provide your complete availability when applying. We are looking for someone with the flexibility to work a variety of shifts within our operating schedule.

Why Work at Posh Pooch?

You’ll be joining a busy, established dog daycare and boarding facility where animal safety and quality care come first.

This role offers the opportunity to learn our business from the ground up, starting with hands-on animal care and building toward front desk and customer service responsibilities.

If you enjoy working with dogs, take pride in doing a job well and enjoy helping people, we’d love to hear from you!

Benefits include:

  • Casual dress
  • On-site parking
  • Employee store discount
  • Hands-on experience working with dogs of different sizes, breeds and personalities
  • Training in animal care, facility operations and customer service

Pay: $17.00 per hour
