Job Overview
We are seeking a strategic, relationship driven sales professional to join Raute’s North American Sales Team and drive business growth across Canada and the United States. This role is ideal for a true “hunter” who thrives in a long, high-value sales cycle environment and understands that success is built on trust, patience, and deep customer relationships. This is not a transactional role, it requires persistence, commercial discipline, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. This role emphasizes consultative, solution-based selling, aligning Raute’s products and services with customers’ current and future needs, including anticipating unstated requirements, while driving opportunities efficiently through cross-functional collaboration.
You will also contribute to the development and implementation of Raute’s Sales and Marketing strategies by supporting sales objectives, strategies, targets, and action plans. Success in this role requires strong communication, strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and a comfort level with frequent travel throughout the territory to build client relationships, sales opportunities, and drive sustainable growth.
If you excel at building strategic partnerships, delivering measurable value for customers and have technical working knowledge of wood processing machinery or engineered wood industry — we’d love to hear from you.

- Acquire a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements.
- Acquire expedient proficiency with Raute capabilities to effectively sell a full range of Raute products and services.
- Advise senior management on prospective business opportunities, maximizing revenue and cost controls.
- Work closely with the Commercial Excellence teams in Raute North America and Finland to support the development of the annual marketing plan by providing sales targets, forecasts, and relevant sales materials, collateral, and documentation. Develop and analyze market sales reports, sales figures, monthly sales forecasts and quarterly sales reviews.
- Establish and oversee sales administration that aligns with operational and customer requirements by meticulously maintaining customer accounts, enhancing CRM and supporting comprehensive sales reporting.
- Prepare sales presentations of products and services tailored to customer's needs and present at meetings.
- Maintain current information on products, competitors, technology, and fluctuations in market performance.
- Represent Raute at open houses, trade shows, and build professional relationships in industry groups.
- Manage and coordinate frequent travel to prospects, clients and operating locations throughout the territory.
- Aid in resolving any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust.
- Other duties as assigned
