Full job description

Master, for over 70 years
The Master Group is Canada’s largest HVAC-R distributor and one of North America’s leading players in the industry. For more than 70 years, Master has supported contractors, engineers and industry partners with a broad portfolio of solutions across residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial applications.

With more than 1,800 dynamic and dedicated team members and a network of 85 branches, along with four distribution centres and three regional distribution hubs across Canada and the United States, Master combines national scale with strong local presence. The company is known for its deep technical expertise, disciplined execution and long-standing partnerships with customers and suppliers.

Master’s approach is grounded in growth, simplicity, teamwork and doing what’s right — focusing on practical innovation, operational excellence and helping its partners succeed in a rapidly evolving industry.

Improving lives, in every degree.

We’re hiring a Junior AI Specialist to join our internal AI Operations team and help reimagine how we work, both with our customers and with each other.

You’ll support projects that automate and augment the way we do business, working closely with teams across North America to uncover pain points, surface efficiency opportunities, and build smarter ways of doing things.

If you’ve got a creative mindset, sharp problem-solving instincts, and the curiosity to dig into how things really work, this role was made for you.

What you will accomplish with us:

  • Support projects that automate and augment both customer-facing and internal business processes
  • Work with teams across the business to uncover pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Help design, build, and refine AI tools and automated workflows under the AI Operations umbrella
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate real-world problems into practical, usable solutions
  • Iterate on existing tools and automations as needs evolve and new opportunities emerge
  • Stay current on emerging AI tools, platforms, and industry trends
  • Document processes and help colleagues adopt new tools and ways of working
  • Contribute to the broader digital transformation journey at The Master Group

What You Bring to Our Team:

  • 1 to 3 years in a similar role
  • A creative mindset paired with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Genuine curiosity about how things work, with a drive to iterate and make them better
  • Strong communication skills, equally comfortable with technical and non-technical colleagues
  • A collaborative, engaged approach to working across departments
  • Comfortable taking ownership of tasks and managing your own workflow, while knowing when to loop in the team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of code is a strong asset, though not required

Compensation Information
Base Salary: $60,000 to $67,000 per year
Additional Compensation: Annual bonus

Competitive Benefits: In addition to a rewarding career within our team, we offer

  • Medical and dental coverage from day one, along with short and long-term disability protection
  • Contribution to a collective registered retirement savings plan upon starting your role.
  • Wellness spending account
  • An employee assistance program including psychological, financial, and legal support.
  • Access to telemedicine from the beginning of your employment.
  • Reimbursement of professional association membership fees.
  • Early vacation program.
  • Work–life balance supported through a hybrid work policy.
