Full job description

Help us lease up a new 55+ community in NW Calgary, and build the resident life that makes it feel like home.

Sage Hill Views is a 55+ active adult rental community in Sage Hill, Northwest Calgary. Our residents have modern suites of their own, with heat and water included and nothing to shovel or fix. What will set us apart is how life works in the building: clubs started and led by residents, a way for residents to put their skills to use for their neighbours, and a connection to a charitable cause that residents support simply by living here.

We're looking for one person to lead it on the ground. You'll fill the suites, welcome every new resident, and help residents start the clubs and activities that bring the building to life. It's a chance to shape a community in a growing, walkable NW Calgary neighbourhood.

What you'll do

Lease up the building

  • Respond to every enquiry the same day, host visits, follow up and sign leases
  • Understand the people you're talking to: downsizers, recently widowed residents, and adult children helping a parent
  • Build referral relationships with realtors, financial planners, faith communities and seniors' organizations
  • Share life in the building on social media and keep listings and reviews current
  • Track enquiries, visits and leases, and report on occupancy monthly

Build the community

  • Get to know every resident by name and welcome new residents through their first month
  • Help residents start and lead their own clubs and activities, then step back so they own them
  • Host regular resident gatherings and a feedback group, and close the loop on what you hear
  • Gently draw in quieter residents without pressure

Run the basics

  • Leases, move-ins, move-outs, inspections and deposits under the Alberta Residential Tenancies Act
  • Rent follow-up and arrears, handled professionally and kindly
  • Coordinate maintenance and keep residents informed
  • Weekly building walk-throughs

What you bring

  • 2+ years working with older adults, for example in seniors' housing, independent living, recreation, community services, health or volunteer coordination
  • 1+ years in leasing, sales or client-facing work with targets
  • A track record of building something with people: a program, volunteer group, club or event series that grew and lasted
  • Working knowledge of residential leasing in Alberta, or the ability to learn it quickly
  • Clear, warm writing, and comfort with social media, email, spreadsheets and property software
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory police information check

Nice to have: experience in a 55+ or retirement community; training in recreation, gerontology, social work or hospitality; Yardi or similar software; photography or short video skills; first aid / CPR.

You'll do well here if you

  • are as comfortable sitting with a resident having a hard day as you are closing a lease
  • measure success by a club that runs without you
  • can say no kindly, and explain why
  • stay organized without losing the warmth

How to apply

Apply through Indeed with your resume, an overview of your demonstrated sales skills, and a short note about as a group, club or program you built: what it was, how you got people involved, and what happened. We're hiring now and will review applications as they arrive.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Benefits:

  • Extended health care
  • On-site gym
  • On-site parking

Application question(s):

  • How many years of experience do you have working directly with adults aged 55 and over?
  • How many years of experience do you have in residential leasing or sales?
  • Briefly describe a club, program or volunteer group you started or grew.
  • Are you able to provide a satisfactory police information check?
  • Will you be able to reliably commute to Sage Hill, NW Calgary?
