About the Position

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator works within a team to ensure that projects are executed smoothly and efficiently. They facilitate communication throughout the project cycle and compile packages which include drawings, resource requirements and instructions that are used by the yard to fabricate the rebar, and by installers to place the rebar at the site. This position is an integral part of the operation and the efforts of the Project Coordinator lead to new homes, businesses, and infrustructure which make visible difference within the landscape of our province.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

· Participate in project handoff from Estimating by reviewing scope, drawings, specifications, budgets, and key project risks to ensure a seamless transition into execution.

· Review, identify, and consult on risk management issues, including schedule constraints, design discrepancies, material availability, and site-specific challenges; escalate concerns proactively to the Project Manager.

· Coordinate and track all submittal requirements, ensuring shop drawings, RFIs, and material submissions are issued, reviewed, and approved in accordance with project schedules and contract requirements.

· Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, aligning detailing, fabrication, and installation timelines with overall construction milestones.

· Set up and maintain project documentation systems (e.g., Basecamp, OneDrive), ensuring all correspondence, drawings, revisions, and project records are current, organized, and accessible to stakeholders.

· Initiate and manage the Quality Control (QC) program, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and company standards throughout detailing, fabrication, and installation phases.

· Prepare, track, and manage change order requests, including pricing support, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and clients to ensure timely resolution and approval.

· Review and quality control rebar shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability prior to submission; coordinate revisions and approvals with detailers, engineers, and clients.

· Coordinate closely with the Project Installation team to schedule field activities, ensuring alignment with site readiness, manpower planning, and delivery timelines.

· Set up, issue, and manage fabrication packages, ensuring clear communication of project requirements, sequencing, and priorities to the fabrication team.

· Coordinate and schedule material deliveries with the Production Manager, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient delivery of rebar to site in accordance with installation sequencing.

· Monitor project quantities and job weights against the original estimate, identifying variances and working with the Project Manager to address discrepancies and control costs.

· Track and maintain RFIs, site instructions, and field changes, ensuring all impacts are documented and incorporated into project records and cost tracking.

· Participate in regular project meetings (internal and external), providing updates on progress, risks, and coordination issues.

· Support project closeout activities, including final documentation, as-built drawings, deficiency resolution, and turnover packages to clients.

About You

Your combined education and engineering experience within the Alberta construction industry has given you a strong foundation for this role. You are an excellent communicator, are detail oriented, able to ensure quality control for documentation, and enjoy working as part of a team.

· Experience/Skills/Education

· Post secondary education in Engineering

· Experience as a rebar detailer or in a similar role is beneficial

· Proficient with AutoCAD, RebarCAD, Microsoft

· Structural engineering experience

· Experience with aSa Studio
