Full job description

Job Brief

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, kitchen organization, cleaning, and day-to-day operations while working closely with the chefs and kitchen staff.

The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock kitchen stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients
  • Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, cutting, and portioning vegetables and other ingredients
  • Assist with basic meat and food preparation as directed by the kitchen manager or chef
  • Prepare sauces, soups, and other ingredients according to kitchen instructions
  • Sort and prepare beans, grains, vegetables, and other products
  • Assist with soup preparation, portioning, and packaging
  • Assist cooks and chefs during food service as required
  • Ensure food is prepared efficiently and according to the restaurant’s quality standards
  • Keep work areas, utensils, equipment, refrigerators, and preparation stations clean and sanitized
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times
  • Complete opening and closing duties as instructed
  • Receive, organize, and properly store food and kitchen supplies when required
  • Maintain an organized and clean kitchen throughout the shift
  • Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning when necessary
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Chef

Requirements

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
  • Ability to follow instructions and food-safety procedures
  • Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is an asset but not required
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
