About Us

The Flealess Hound Pub is a warm and welcoming neighbourhood restaurant and pub in the heart of the South Okanagan, Oliver, BC. We take pride in serving up creative comfort food made from scratch with quality ingredients. We were recently named the Best Pub in the South Okanagan by the readers of the Penticton Western News for the second year running!

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for passionate, reliable, and hardworking individuals to join our kitchen team.

Job Summary

We’re seeking motivated Line Cooks and Prep Cooks to help prepare and plate high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with our Head Chef and other kitchen team members to deliver consistent, flavourful meals that keep our guests coming back.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation using established recipes and standards
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures at all times
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully and efficiently with team members and front-of-house staff
  • Assist with inventory rotation and minimize food waste
  • Adapt to a variety of tasks and support a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of line cook or general kitchen experience preferred (but willing to train the right person)
  • Excellent culinary skills with the ability to create delicious and visually appealing dishes.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and a team-first mentality
  • Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations.
  • Red Seal certification or multi-year similar industry experience an asset but not necessary.
  • Food Safe Certification required.
