Phoenix Industrial is currently hiring an experienced Quality Control Lead to support upcoming industrial construction and maintenance projects in Alberta.

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing QA/QC programs, welding inspection activities, and compliance with applicable codes and standards on active project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all quality control and inspection activities on site
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Codes Act, applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
  • Supervise and support a team of QC inspectors and technicians
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, and client representatives
  • Review and approve inspection reports, turnover packages, and quality documentation
  • Track, document, and report non-conformances and deviations
  • Support welding inspection activities and ensure CWB compliance
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, regulators, and internal teams

What You Bring:

  • 5–8+ years of experience in quality control within industrial construction, maintenance, or shutdowns
  • Previous experience as a QC Lead, QA/QC Lead, or Lead Inspector
  • Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven leadership experience managing inspection teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Requirements & Certifications:

  • Valid CWB Level II Welding Inspector certification
  • Valid Visual Acuity Record
  • Valid Driver’s Abstract
  • Successful completion of pre-access drug & alcohol test
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
  • WHMIS 2015
  • H2S Alive
  • Fall Protection (ESC)
  • Elevated Work Platform (ESC)
  • Confined Space Entry & Monitor (ESC)
