Shift Supervisor/Security Control Center Operator - Niagara

Position Overview

Vista Security & Investigations Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor/Security Control Center Operator. This role is responsible for dispatching security personnel, managing incoming operational calls, supporting mobile units, and coordinating incident responses.

This is a fast-paced operations role requiring strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm, organized, and professional during active situations.

Schedule

This role operates within a two-person coverage structure:

12/hr shifts - The final schedule will be confirmed based on operational rotation.

This is a full-time, in-office position.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and make critical decisions during shifts.
• Maintain strong organizational skills and time management.
• Demonstrate above average communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Administer verbal discipline in accordance with the management process and escalate issues to management.
• Lead guards and provide conflict management skills when needed.
• Organize and oversee special events and/or projects as per direction from Campus Safety.
• Make judgement calls and provide excellent customer service to staff, students, and visitors.
• Maintain a high level of communication with Site Director and Site Supervisor on all issues and concerns that occur during their shift.
• Ensure all duties, including the guard duties, are completed as per Campus Safety instructions.
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly assigned tasks are completed in accordance with Campus Safety instructions.
• Monitor the general Security email and respond or forward as required.
• Monitor and answer the main phone line for security, which could be a call from the Welland or NOTL Campus
• Monitor the 911 alert notification phone.
• Monitor all cameras for both campuses.
• Assist with finding and saving video footage during or after an incident.
• Monitor and organize guard responses to all alarms received through our camera system.

General

This role description outlines the primary responsibilities of the position and may be

amended from time to time to reflect operational requirements. Additional duties may

be assigned as required.

Working Conditions

• Ability to respond effectively during urgent operational situations
• Occasional site attendance or travel may be required based on operational needs

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid G-Class Driver’s License
• Clean driving abstract (if applicable)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in security operations, dispatch, control center, or a similar environment
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in real time
• Experience with TrackTik or similar systems is considered an asset
• Experience supporting mobile patrol or field operations is preferred
