Position Summary
Scott Builders Inc. is seeking an energetic, motivated, and deadline-driven Project Coordinator (Commercial Construction) to support project teams across a variety of commercial construction build types and markets. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented construction professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment and is passionate about project coordination, documentation, scheduling, cost control, and delivering high-quality construction outcomes.

Job Summary
The Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers and project teams to provide construction and administrative support throughout the project lifecycle. This position is responsible for coordinating project documentation, supporting cost and schedule control, assisting with change order administration, and helping ensure manpower, materials, and equipment are aligned with project requirements.
The successful candidate will bring strong organizational skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide project coordination and administrative support to Project Managers and construction project teams
- Maintain ownership of project documentation, reporting, records, and communication tracking
- Support cost control, schedule control, and change order administration processes
- Assist with preparation and execution of project work plans, construction schedules, and project coordination activities
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment needs, and project resources under the direction of the Project Manager
- Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and construction plans as required
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including team members, subcontractors, consultants, and clients
- Support adherence to construction safety practices, project procedures, and quality expectations
- Troubleshoot project-related issues and respond to changing project needs in a timely and professional manner
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; equivalent education and experience may be considered
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or in a related role within the commercial construction industry
- Experience working on multiple construction projects with multiple project teams
- Strong understanding of construction practices, safety practices, and project management processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and construction plans
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore, and applicable project management software
- Knowledge of building codes, municipal zoning and land use bylaws, permitting procedures, and applicable construction, safety, and employment regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while providing a high level of customer service
- Flexibility to work overtime as required and travel to project sites on occasion
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in design-build or construction management environments
- Previous experience using Procore or similar construction project management platforms
- Strong familiarity with commercial construction project documentation, scheduling, and change management processes
Work Environment and Schedule
This position includes a combination of office-based and project site-based work within a commercial construction environment. The role may require occasional travel to construction sites, interaction with active project teams, and flexibility to work overtime during busy project periods or to meet project deadlines.
Work may involve exposure to typical construction site conditions, including varying weather, active equipment, site safety requirements, and changing project priorities.
