Job Summary
Cox Construction is looking for people to join our growing Construction Team in the building of roads, drainage infrastructure, earth moving and supply of aggregates to our customers

Duties

  • Perform site surveys to establish accurate reference points, elevations, and alignments for construction projects.
  • Interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications to determine survey requirements.
  • Utilize surveying tools and technologies, including GPS, total stations, and machine control technology.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports, sketches, As-Builts and documentation for project records.
  • Verify dimensions and layouts of structures during construction to ensure alignment with plans and designs.
  • Coordinate with Project Superintendent, Sub-Contractors, and other stakeholders to address survey-related project requirements.
  • Conduct boundary and topographic surveys, as well as layout staking for sewers, foundations, utilities, roads, and other structures.
  • Adhere to safety standards and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of survey equipment.
  • Stay current with advancements in surveying technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties that may be superficially or generally assigned.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering or Survey related program from an accredited academic institution. 3 to 5 years of experience in construction surveying preferred.
  • Proficiency with surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, and levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply technical information.
  • Proficiency in survey-related software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Topcon 3D Office).
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively
