Full job description

Assistant Fashion Designer

Role summery & responsibilities

- Use Adobe Illustrator to create flat sketches and technical packages with detailed information,

including trims & artworks.

- Assist and maintain cads, fabric cards and line sheets regularly.

- Create seasonal Pantone color library.

- Prepare presentation/mood boards for sales team.

- Modify and revise existing designs to meet or to improve design quality.

- Follow-up on development samples to make sure that samples are received in timely manner.

- Receive, analyze and comment proto samples to ensure they are up to fabrication, pattern, color,

trims, details and quality standards.

- Collaborate with the designers to send approvals and comments overseas on a daily basis.

- Receiving/sorting the fabrications selected at fabric fairs in order to prepare the selection.

- Stay updated on trends and explore new creative ideas through various medias such as internet,

magazines and shopping. Research for new silhouettes, patterns, prints.

- Participating in various design projects from concept to completion.

- Use feedback from leaders to improve work.

Knowledge & Qualifications

- College or University Degree in Fashion Design or related.

- Up to 5 years of experience as an Assistant Designer ineither Menswear or Ladieswear.

- Must have a working knowledge of garment construction in both knit and woven items.

- Solid computer proficiency - strong knowledge in Excel, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop

in MAC environment.

- Strong communication skills; spoken and written English are mandatory (French asset).

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
