Job Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Cell Phone Repair Technician to join our growing mobile device processing and repair team. This role is responsible for sorting and grading mobile phones and tablets, diagnosing hardware and software issues, and determining the most effective course of action for resale, repair, or parts harvesting. As the business expands, the technician will play a key role in device restoration, component replacement, software updates, and quality assurance testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort, identify, and categorize mobile phones and tablets by brand, model, and condition.
  • Grade devices based on cosmetic appearance, functionality, and overall market value.
  • Perform diagnostic testing to identify hardware, software, battery, charging, connectivity, and display issues.
  • Troubleshoot and determine the root cause of device malfunctions.
  • Evaluate devices for resale, refurbishment, repair, or parts harvesting.
  • Conduct functionality tests including touch screen, camera, speaker, microphone, charging port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular connectivity assessments.
  • Document inspection findings, repair recommendations, and device conditions accurately.
  • Disassemble devices safely to inspect internal components when necessary.
  • Replace defective parts such as screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, speakers, and other components as repair operations expand.
  • Perform software updates, operating system restores, data wipes, and firmware troubleshooting.
  • Ensure repaired devices meet quality standards and are restored to full functionality whenever possible.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and follow established safety procedures and repair processes.
  • Stay current on new mobile device models, repair techniques, and industry trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of major cellular phone and tablet brands, including Apple, Samsung, Google, Motorola, LG, and other Android devices.
  • Understanding of mobile device hardware and software systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
  • Experience grading and evaluating electronic devices preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in cell phone repair, electronics repair, refurbishment, or device processing.
  • Experience replacing screens, batteries, charging ports, and other mobile device components.
  • Familiarity with mobile device management, software flashing, and firmware restoration.
  • Experience working in electronics recycling, refurbishment, or wholesale device operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle small electronic components and perform detailed repair work.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes of devices and equipment as needed.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
