Job Overview

The System Operator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the day to day operations for the Temenos Banking System which includes all nightly processes for Close of Business (COB's), backups, monitoring processes, stopping and stopping services/processes, and initial investigation and reporting of issues.


Role

  • Diligently and accurately run nightly COBs and backups on banking system environment
  • Monitor the banking system processes
  • Proactively communicate and initiate any processes specific to Temenos services, such as jBase Agents and Webserver
  • Update and performance tune within a documented scope of authority
  • Effectively communicate and report on banking system processes, performance and issues
  • Escalate incidents or issues to the System Administrator for further analysis and investigation
  • Participate as required in the release process to test systems and/or production
  • Be flexible with you work arrangement including being available evenings and weekends, on-call and shift rotations as the job demands
  • Stay ahead of current industry trends, new technologies and services that impact member and employee experience

  • Communicate in a fashion that is respectful and well understood
  • Collaborate with your peers and stakeholders to add to the collective innovative thinking that can drive new business ideas for FirstOntario

  • Perform other duties as we may need you to do


Required Skills

  • Possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in computer science or equivalent in a related program
  • Have at least two (2) years of experience in an IT support role or similar function
  • Be an expert user of MS Office
  • Be an analytical thinker who through having a keen sense for detail can estimate the scope of IT initiatives
  • Be experienced with solving technical issues and be resourceful in the way you find a solution
  • Be quick to respond to requests for service from all of your clients in a manner which is clearly understood, both technically and user-friendly
  • Openly share your knowledge with the team
  • Inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity and be trustworthy
  • Be approachable with your superior interpersonal skills
  • Innately demonstrate superior communication skills
  • Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
  • Be willing to travel if required

This position is primarily remote, with occasional requirements to be in office in Stoney Creek, ON.

Salary Range: $53,122 to $73,042.

Compensation for this role reflects a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Those whose experience more closely aligns the role's requirements may be placed higher within the salary range.
