Visiontec Systems is a Canadian company that specializes in providing world-class, front-line security and CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive) technologies, products and services to clients across Canada. As a trusted partner, our goal and passion are to mitigate our client’s security risks with solutions and services they can rely on.

As a result of significant growth and expanding opportunities we are looking to hire a Field Service Technician to join our great team!

Our ideal candidate is a hands-on team player who has strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, is customer service focused, organized, adaptable, detail oriented, and enjoys learning, and travelling extensively within Ontario and across Canada. Given the nature of our business, candidates must be able to obtain high level security clearance.

Salary range commensurate with experience: $65,000 - $82,000 plus benefits.

No two days are the same at Visiontec! Our Field Service Technicians are responsible for a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:

  • Prepare equipment (baggage X-rays, body scanners, metal detectors and other security detection equipment) for installation, both at the shop and onsite.
  • Travel to customer sites and install equipment including modify and customize equipment as required.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems and determine solutions, both in the warehouse and in the field.
  • Respond to and provide excellent customer support in person and over the phone as needed.
  • Prepare and complete service repair reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper and safe use, maintenance and reporting of company property (service vans, trailers, tools, and test equipment).
  • Adhere to customer and Visiontec’s safety standards and protocols.
  • Participate in on-site and off-site technology and product training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education or technical Diploma in electrical, mechanical, or related field.
  • 3+ years field service technician experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to effectively troubleshoot, test, repair & service technical equipment.
  • Able to read, understand and work through technical documents and manuals.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, planning, prioritization, organizational and execution skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbal and written. French is an asset.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Self directed and able to work well independently.
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good computer skills, tech savvy, MS Office, etc.
  • Must be able to travel extensively, up to 70% of the time (locally, provincially and across Canada).
  • Occasional weekend work is required.
  • Valid G Drivers’ license with a clean driving record and have access to a car.
  • Able to obtain high level security clearance.
