Annie's Place is expanding, and we are looking for compassionate and dedicated Licensed Health Care Aides and Licensed Home Support Workers to join our team in Penticton, BC.

Position Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hourly Wage: $27.00-$28.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Schedule: Various day, evening, and weekend shifts available
  • Benefits: Available after 3 months of employment

About Annie's Place

Annie's Place provides professional home support services throughout the Lower Mainland, Victoria, and the Okanagan. We support seniors, individuals with disabilities, families caring for aging parents, children, and clients requiring respite care, post-operative care, and transition support between home, assisted living, hospital, and long-term care.

Position Summary

As a Home Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, client-centered care that promotes independence and enhances quality of life. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Medication assistance
  • Companionship and emotional support
  • Escorting clients to appointments
  • Supporting clients with activities of daily living

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate client documentation.
  • Promote clients' physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Communicate changes in client condition promptly to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, and team members.
  • Maintain professional standards while carrying out delegated tasks.
  • Promote client safety and respond appropriately to medical or ethical concerns.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Health Care Assistant (HCA) or Residential Care Aide Certificate, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Home Support Worker Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of caregiving experience.

Additional requirements:

  • Current Criminal Record Check.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use email and basic technology for communication.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting clients with mobility.
  • Valid BC driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are considered strong assets.
  • Additional languages such as Italian, Spanish, German, French, or others are considered an asset.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of home support or caregiving experience preferred.
