The Position

The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories is seeking a Coordinator, Marketing & Communications to support the communications, marketing, digital engagement, media relations and brand management initiatives that advance our mission and fundraising goals.

Based in Edmonton, Alberta, this is full-time permanent position reporting to the President & CEO. The successful candidate will be a creative, organized and relationship focused communicator who enjoys storytelling, digital marketing, analytics and collaborating across the Society to increase awareness, engagement, and community impact.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Supporting fundraising campaigns, events, and the Champion Model through targeted marketing and participant engagement strategies.
  • Assisting with event promotion, registration experiences, and communications to maximize participation and fundraising success.
  • Maintaining relationships with media outlets to secure coverage of Society initiatives, events, and priorities.
  • Attending and supporting philanthropy and community events as required.
  • Coordinating digital content across social media, website, email, and other communication channels.
  • Collaborating with external marketing partners to ensure timely content creation and publishing.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on website, social media, and campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Hootsuite.
  • Providing regular and ad hoc reporting to support organizational planning and decision-making.
  • Maintaining and strengthening the Society’s brand identity across all communications touchpoints.
  • Ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, visual standards, and templates.
  • Supporting website updates and ensure alignment with brand guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a similar position
  • Experience in writing, editing, and producing newsletters, annual reports, marketing literature and other print publications
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing strategies, and requirements of mass communication media
  • Proficient knowledge in Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Survey Monkey, and WordPress
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including SharePoint
  • Proficiency in social media outlets, Sprout Social, Adobe Acrobat, and Canva
  • Aptitude to problem-solve, think creatively, and analytically
  • Time management skills and ability to determine priorities
  • Articulate and persuasive communicator both written and oral
  • Post secondary education preferred
  • Experience in a nonprofit work environment is considered an asset.
