Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene.
  • Support mobility needs through safe transfer techniques and help with walking or repositioning to prevent falls.
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Administer medications accurately according to prescribed schedules and document all medication activities diligently.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning personal spaces, laundry, and maintaining a tidy environment.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
  • Monitor clients’ health status, report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals promptly, and assist with basic patient care as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to care for seniors or individuals with disabilities, including those with dementia or requiring hospice support.
  • Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, compassion, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Physical stamina for heavy lifting, assisting with transfers, and performing routine cleaning tasks.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans and adhere to health regulations consistently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or nursing are a plus.
