Director of Professional Services
[AKA Delivery Architect; Team Builder; Customer Success Champion]
The morning starts with a familiar rhythm. Coffee in hand, you pull up your project dashboard before most of your team has logged on. Multiple active implementations, a project kickoff call, and a capacity plan you've been refining for the weeks ahead. You scan the board with the steady eye of someone who has delivered projects like these before - not just managed them.
At 8:10, you join the team for daily huddle, then host the Professional Services Team daily briefing. Implementation Consultants are joining in the office, from home offices across North America; one is dialing in from a client site in New York. Thirty minutes together: wins from the week, blockers that need your attention, a calibration on timelines. One of your consultants is navigating a tricky scope conversation with a client - you listen carefully, ask a few pointed questions, and share how you'd approach it. Not to take it over, but to help them grow into the problem-solver this work demands.
By mid-morning, you're running a milestone review for a mid-sized nursery rolling out iQ Grower ERP. The master data migration has hit some complexity and the original timeline needs adjustment. You come prepared: a revised plan, clear rationale, a confident delivery. The client leaves the call feeling steady and supported. That's the goal every time.
After lunch, you walk down the hall for a one-on-one with one of your newer consultants. The technical skills are there - what's still developing is the ability to run a room with quiet authority. You work through a recent client scenario together, role-playing the conversation, debriefing honestly. This is one of your favourite parts of the role: the moment when someone you've been coaching starts to see themselves differently.
That conversation stays with you as you settle back at your desk. Growth like that doesn't happen by accident - it happens because the right structures are in place. You spend the next hour on the implementation playbook you've been steadily building: standardized delivery stages, consistent documentation practices, clear handoff protocols that mean nothing falls through the cracks when the team doubles in size. It's not glamorous work, but it's the kind of thing that will matter enormously as Aster scales. You save your progress and send a few Slack messages to close out the day's open threads. As you head out, there's a quiet satisfaction in knowing that the team you're building - and the foundation you're laying - will still be running smoothly long after these early days are behind you.
Does this sound like a perfect workday? If so, you’re needed on our team as Director of Professional Services.
Aster Software is a leading provider of innovative horticulture software solutions built on the Salesforce platform. Our mission is Turning Chaos Into Clarity, Together, empowering businesses in the horticulture sector to thrive. We are committed to excellence, open-mindedness, deep care, and passionate curiosity. Join us in revolutionizing the way horticulture businesses operate.
We are facing exponential expansion over the next several years. The opportunity in front of us is substantial.
We are a high-trust, values-driven team. We care deeply about our customers’ long-term success. We hold ourselves accountable. We solve hard problems together.
Role Overview
The Director of Professional Services will lead and scale Aster’s Professional Services organization while actively delivering customer implementations.
This is not a purely administrative leadership role.
Initially, this position will be approximately 50 percent team leadership and operational scaling, and 50 percent active project management.
This structure is intentional. By personally leading ERP implementations, you stay deeply connected to our customers, our system, and the realities of delivery. As the company scales, your leadership scope will expand accordingly.
You will help design the delivery engine that supports our next phase of growth.
Location: Chilliwack BC
Department: Professional Services
Reports to: Executive Leadership (COO / CEO)
What You’ll Get From Us:
- Passion and energy in a growing, tech-loving business
- A vision for the future with increasing expansion and innovation
- A dedicated team that is working together towards a common goal
- Excellent values, in a culture where our values are lived out daily
- Continuous training and career growth opportunities
- A competitive compensation package, including comprehensive benefits coverage
What We Need From You:
We care less about how many years you have worked, and more about how you lead.
- Experience leading people through complexity and change.
- Experience delivering SaaS, ERP, or other complex implementations.
- A track record of taking ownership rather than waiting for direction.
- The ability to balance discipline with empathy.
- Comfortable in a growth environment where structure is still being built.
- Willing to do what is needed, even when it is not glamorous.
- Calm under pressure and clear in communication.
- Motivated by building something that will outlast you.
Key Responsibilities:
Professional Services Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers and Implementation Consultants.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
- Model ownership, clarity, and customer-first thinking.
- Support hiring and onboarding as we expand the team.
- Strengthen a culture of trust, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Project & Delivery Ownership
- Personally lead ERP implementations as a Project Manager.
- Own successful delivery across all active customer projects.
- Guard scope, budget, and timelines with discipline.
- Proactively identify and mitigate delivery risks.
- Ensure customers experience structure, clarity, and momentum.
Operational Excellence & Scaling
- Design and refine scalable Professional Services processes and frameworks.
- Improve forecasting, utilization, and capacity planning.
- Partner closely with Sales and Finance to align delivery with growth.
- Identify bottlenecks and solve them.
- Build the operational foundation required to scale significantly over the coming years.
What Success Looks Like:
Within the first 6 to 12 months:
- Our Professional Services team is stronger, clearer, and scaling fast.
- Delivery capacity has expanded without sacrificing quality.
- Project discipline is consistent and visible.
- Customers trust us deeply.
- The operational engine is positioned to support accelerated growth.
Why This Role Matters:
Professional Services is the heartbeat of a growing ERP company. If delivery fails, everything fails.
This role is central to our next chapter. You will not just manage a team. You will help shape how we scale.
Core Values:
At Aster Software, we live by our core values:
- Be the Best: Strive for excellence in everything we do, continuously seeking opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Open-Minded: Embrace new ideas, perspectives, and challenges with curiosity and adaptability.
- Care Deeply: Demonstrate empathy, integrity, and genuine concern for the well-being of our clients and colleagues.
- Curiously Passionate: Approach our work with enthusiasm, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge and innovation.
