Full job description

EBS Geostructural Inc. is a specialty design-build deep foundation contractor based in Breslau, Ontario. We design and install helical piles, micropiles, geotechnical grouting systems, and displacement piles for construction projects across a wide range of sectors.

Our work sits at the intersection of engineering, construction, and practical problem-solving. We are known for developing foundation solutions that are technically sound, buildable, and responsive to real project constraints.

About the Role

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer / EIT to join our growing engineering team. This is not a purely desk-based design role. You will work closely with estimators, project managers, field supervisors, operations, clients, and consultants to develop solutions that can be designed, priced, installed, and delivered effectively.

This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who wants exposure to challenging real-world projects, enjoys construction-facing design, and wants to see engineered solutions move from concept through execution.

Why Join EBS?

· Work with a respected and growing specialty contractor in the deep foundation industry.

· Gain exposure to unique, technically challenging projects across infrastructure, institutional, commercial, and industrial sectors.

· See how designs perform in the field and learn from direct collaboration with experienced construction professionals.

· Contribute to a company culture built around practical problem-solving, teamwork, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

· Develop both technical depth and project management capability in a design-build environment.

What You'll Do

· Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, tender documents, and other project information.

· Evaluate project requirements and help develop practical, efficient, and buildable foundation design solutions.

· Prepare or support structural designs, calculations, sketches, installation concepts, and technical documentation for deep foundation systems.

· Assist in preparing installation plans based on sound engineering principles, constructability, safety, and field realities.

· Perform take-offs from architectural and structural drawings to support estimating, design, and project planning.

· Provide design and technical support to office and field teams before and during project execution.

· Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to help move projects from design through construction.

· Participate in design meetings, lessons learned, internal seminars, and company events.

· Manage assigned tasks or projects, depending on experience and designation, and support successful delivery from start to finish.

What We're Looking For

· Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.

· E.I.T. or P.Eng. designation with Professional Engineers Ontario, or eligibility to register with PEO.

· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in structural design, construction, or a related field.

· Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and their practical application in the field.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD or other structural/design software.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

· Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage deadlines, balance multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to collaborate with professionals across multiple disciplines.

· Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and applicable regulations.

· Project management experience is considered an asset.

· A Master's degree is considered an asset, but is not required.

Compensation and Growth

· Salary range: $70,000 to $130,000 per year, based on experience, designation, and demonstrated technical/project capability.

· Full-time, permanent role with room to grow as the company and engineering group continue to develop.

· Practical mentorship from experienced engineering, estimating, project management, operations, and field professionals.

· Opportunities to build technical judgment, construction understanding, client communication skills, and project leadership capability.

What Sets You Apart

You are technically strong, practical in your thinking, and comfortable working close to construction. You enjoy solving problems, asking good questions, communicating with a variety of stakeholders, and balancing engineering judgment with real-world execution.

You do not need to know every deep foundation system on day one. What matters is that you are curious, accountable, detail-oriented, and interested in becoming the kind of engineer who can connect design intent with what actually happens in the field.

How to Apply

Please apply through Indeed with your resume. A brief cover note is welcome if you would like to explain your interest in design-build engineering, specialty foundations, or construction-facing structural design.

Pay: $70,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
