Full job description

We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to support the operation and maintenance of a 1st Class high-pressure steam plant and utility systems in Windsor-Essex, ON region.

Pay - $100k-$145k/year

Shift - Day shift

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the safe and efficient operation of the Powerhouse, including boilers, cogeneration systems, air compressors, water treatment equipment, ammonia refrigeration systems, air scrubbers, and other utility equipment.

  • Support maintenance activities and help coordinate preventive and corrective repairs.

  • Ensure operational logs, utility records, and compliance documentation are completed and maintained accurately.

  • Assist the Chief Engineer in meeting Ontario TSSA requirements and supporting regulatory inspections.

  • Help coordinate contractors, consultants, and external service providers when needed.

  • Support the training and development of Operating Engineers.

  • Participate in routine inspections of boilers and utility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

  • Assist with managing spare parts inventory and maintenance schedules.

  • Promote and follow all health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Provide support and guidance to the operating engineer team.

  • Assist with energy-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives.

  • Support the preparation and tracking of maintenance and capital budgets.

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of Powerhouse projects.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Ontario 1st Class Operating Engineer License.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a 1st Class Operating Engineer or 5 years of experience as a 2nd Class Operating Engineer.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.
