We are a highly successful and continuously expanding real estate ownership, development, and property management organization with a substantial portfolio of industrial, commercial, office, retail, and residential assets. With approximately 500 employees across multiple business units, our organization operates at a significant scale, bringing together professionals from property management, leasing, development, construction, finance, operations, and corporate functions. As we enter our next phase of growth, we are seeking an experienced Head of Human Resources to help shape the future of our workforce and strengthen our people strategy across the organization.
This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned HR executive to play a pivotal role within a large and growing real estate organization. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Head of Human Resources will serve as the organization's senior HR leader, overseeing all aspects of the human resources function while acting as a trusted advisor to executives on workforce planning, talent strategy, organizational development, employee engagement, leadership development, and culture.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the HR function for approximately 500 employees while building scalable programs and processes that support both current operations and future growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to operate at a high level while remaining closely connected to the day-to-day realities of a dynamic real estate business.
We are seeking a leader who understands the unique challenges and opportunities within the real estate industry and has a proven track record of building strong teams, developing leaders, improving retention, and creating high-performing workplace cultures.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior HR leader and strategic partner to the executive team, helping shape workforce strategy, organizational structure, succession planning, and company culture.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy that supports the organization's continued growth, operational excellence, and long-term business objectives.
- Lead all aspects of Human Resources for a workforce of approximately 500 employees, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and HR operations.
- Build and strengthen recruitment initiatives across corporate, operational, property management, construction, and executive-level functions, ensuring the organization attracts and retains top industry talent.
- Drive employee engagement, leadership development, and retention programs that foster a high-performance culture and support long-term career growth.
- Partner with business leaders to identify workforce needs, develop talent pipelines, and create succession plans for critical leadership and operational positions.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs, ensuring competitiveness within the market and alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, organizational change initiatives, policy development, and regulatory compliance.
- Utilize workforce analytics and HR metrics to identify trends, improve decision-making, and enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team while continuously improving systems, processes, and best practices across the function.
Qualifications
- CHRP, CHRL, SHRM, SPHR, or equivalent HR designation preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
- Significant HR leadership experience within the real estate industry is required.
- Experience supporting real estate ownership, development, property management, construction, or related organizations.
- Proven experience leading HR functions for organizations with several hundred employees.
- Strong background in talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and organizational development.
- Experience partnering directly with executive leadership and ownership groups.
- Demonstrated success building scalable HR programs within growing organizations.
- Deep understanding of employment legislation, HR compliance, and best practices.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategies with organizational goals.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience leading and developing HR teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented environment.
Compensation
- $180,000 – $220,000 base salary
