Full job description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude who can effectively handle physical and manual work in an industrial environment, and can make a positive contribution to the team.

What this job involves:

  • Operation of induction furnaces.
  • Buffing, grinding, and cleaning of finished metal products.
  • Able to handle chemicals and acids in a safe manner.
  • Cleaning and minor maintenance of equipment.
  • Transporting large barrels of batch process material using material handling equipment several times per shift.
  • Repetitive manual scooping of material from cells.
  • Monitoring and treating large chemical batch processes.
  • Heavy repetitive lifting of up to 60lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Perform work in a safe manner, able to wear appropriate PPE, and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Two years experience in an industrial manufacturing / production environment performing physical / manual work.
  • Experience working with chemicals and acids in an industrial setup, with a strong background in adhering to safety protocols.
  • Able to lift up to 60lbs on a repetitive basis.
  • Previous experience working with molten metals within a melting, foundry or casting environment preferred.
  • Able to work rotating shifts (days, afternoons and nights), and weekends as required on full time basis.
  • Must be comfortable working within a hot environment and wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Experience driving a forklift is an asset.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with team members.
