Full job description

Imagine Leadership places experienced change and communications professionals into meaningful public-sector work. We're hiring an Organizational Change Manager to lead change and communications for a major enterprise (ERP) system at a public-sector client, helping a large, organization-wide audience move from current state to future state as the system is implemented, sustained, and optimized.

You'd be hired by Imagine Leadership on a fixed-term basis and placed on assignment with a public-sector client to support their programs. You'd work on-site with the client's team.

What you'll do

  • Design and deliver change strategies, plans, and resistance-management plans that drive adoption and sustained use.
  • Develop communication plans and write clear, compelling material for a range of audiences.
  • Identify and analyze stakeholders, and assess and manage the key ones.
  • Run gap analysis, change-impact analysis, and business and stakeholder readiness assessments.
  • Create and deliver presentations to all levels, including executives.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings with management and stakeholders.
  • Keep impacted audiences informed throughout, and lead engagement that supports ongoing adoption and sustainment.
  • Define and track success metrics, and monitor change progress.
  • Work with program leadership on schedules, resourcing, and work plans, and support risk and issue management.
  • Help make sure new solutions land successfully and are sustained after go-live.
  • Advise on the consistent, effective use of change-management methodology, tools, and approaches.
  • Use approved digital, collaboration, and AI tools for analysis, content, engagement, and reporting.

Must have

  • You can attest that you have no conflict of interest.
  • A degree in a related field (such as commerce or communications), plus four years of related experience.
  • 4+ years applying change-management methodologies and principles.
  • 4+ years in consultation, facilitation, interpersonal skills, and relationship building.
  • 5+ years developing and delivering communications and presentations for multiple audiences.
  • 5+ years developing change-management deliverables, including change strategy and plans.
  • 5+ years developing readiness programs, training, or stakeholder engagement.
  • 4+ years of ERP systems change management (for example, Finance, HCM/Payroll, or Supply Chain).
  • 4+ years of negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing.
  • A recognized change-management certification or accreditation (for example, Prosci, APMG, or CMI).

Nice to have

  • 2+ years using AI tools (for example, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or NotebookLM).
  • Experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels.
  • 2+ years with digital adoption platforms as a strategic change intervention.
  • 2+ years working with government/ministry structures, functions, and reporting relationships.
  • 2+ years working in or for the public sector.
  • 2+ years of experience with government business planning, strategies, and priorities.

Conditions of the role

  • You must be legally entitled to work in Canada, and the work is performed in Canada (a network and data-security requirement).
  • This is an on-site role in downtown Edmonton, five days a week, standard business hours (about 8:15 to 4:30, Monday to Friday). The client provides your laptop, system access, and on-site workspace.
  • A current criminal record check is required before you start.
  • Once hired, you'll complete mandatory training, including privacy and security-awareness courses.

Employment details

  • The client assignment is currently anticipated to run for approximately 12 months. Exact start and end dates, and the applicable employment terms, will be set out in the employment agreement. Potential for an extension of up to 6 months, subject to client approval and program needs.
  • Full-time hours (about 36.25 hours per week, 7.25 hours per day).
  • The role does not include a separate group benefits plan.

What to include with your application

Your résumé, which includes:

  • For each role, your experience in the context of the specific job or project where you gained it - not just a restatement of the requirement - with dates in MMM/YYYY to MMM/YYYY format (for example, Jan/2023 to Mar/2025).
  • Your work eligibility in Canada - Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a valid work permit (include the permit's expiry date).
  • Three references for whom you've done similar work, with the most recent listed first.
