Automotive Detail Technician

Driver’s License Required — No License, No Hire

Pay:
CA$18.00–CA$20.00 per hour

Starting at CA$18.00/hour during probation with the opportunity to increase to CA$20.00/hour after successful completion of probation based on performance, reliability, and workmanship.

Job Type:
Part-time, Permanent

Expected Hours:
15+ hours per week
Tuesday to Saturday schedule

Advanced Auto Salon is looking for a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented Automotive Detail Technician to join our team.

We are a professional automotive appearance company specializing in vehicle detailing, paint correction, ceramic coatings, paint protection film, and vehicle protection services.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a passion for vehicles, pays attention to detail, and understands that every vehicle represents our company’s reputation.

This position involves performing professional interior and exterior detailing services, vehicle preparation, paint decontamination, polishing preparation, and maintaining the high-quality standards our customers expect.

A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position. Applicants without a valid driver’s license will not be considered.

Interview Process

Selected candidates will be required to complete a hands-on detailing test during the interview process.

Candidates must demonstrate their ability to properly clean and care for a vehicle while following professional detailing standards.

The detailing test may include interior cleaning, exterior cleaning, product application, and proper use of detailing equipment.

Responsibilities to the Customer

  • Perform high-quality interior and exterior vehicle detailing services according to company standards
  • Complete vehicle inspections before and after services
  • Safely clean and protect vehicle surfaces including paint, glass, wheels, tires, trim, and interiors
  • Perform:
  • Foam washes and safe wash techniques
  • Interior cleaning and deep cleaning
  • Vacuuming and air cleaning
  • Steam cleaning
  • Hot water extraction
  • Paint decontamination and clay bar treatments
  • Machine polishing (training available)
  • Application of protective products and sealants
  • Ensure every vehicle is completed properly and returned to customers in excellent condition
  • Handle customer vehicles with care and professionalism

Responsibilities to the Shop

  • Maintain clean and organized detailing bays, equipment, and work areas
  • Properly operate and maintain detailing equipment including:
  • Dual Action polishers
  • Rotary polishers
  • Steamers
  • Hot water extractors
  • Vacuums
  • Air tools/Tornadors
  • Pressure washers
  • Move and park customer vehicles safely
  • Maintain detailing supplies and notify management when inventory is low
  • Follow company procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards
  • Assist with daily shop operations as required
  • Help ensure vehicles are completed efficiently and on schedule

Responsibilities to Management

  • Arrive on time and be ready to work at scheduled start times
  • Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks properly
  • Communicate professionally with management and team members
  • Ask questions when unsure rather than risking damage to vehicles
  • Take ownership of workmanship and correct mistakes when required
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a professional work environment
  • Continue improving detailing skills through feedback and training
  • Represent Advanced Auto Salon professionally at all times

Qualifications & Expectations

  • Valid Full G Driver’s License required
  • Previous automotive detailing experience preferred
  • Experience using professional detailing equipment is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment
  • Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and work around vehicles for extended periods
  • Availability to work Saturdays

Applicants without automotive detailing experience may not be considered.
