Due to continued growth, we currently seek a Senior Staff Accountant to join our dedicated team working from our conveniently located office in Mississauga.
The successful candidate is a professional, positive team player with a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, who is ready to contribute in a meaningful way to our small but mighty team.
Please note that we are also looking for Junior and Intermediate level Staff Accountants to join our growing team. All experienced Staff Accountants are welcome to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independent, timely preparation, completion and review of working papers and financial statements for Compilations for small to medium sized Canadian businesses.
- Full preparation and review of individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations. This includes recognizing and anticipating client issues and risks, and providing solutions under the direction of management.
- HST preparation and review, investments, payroll and reconciliation services.
- Conducting tax research and analysis to provide strategic planning advise to clients.
- Assist clients with accounting/bookkeeping services as required.
- Stay updated on legislative tax changes and assess impact on clients.
- Direct client communication and management.
- Assisting/mentoring junior staff.
- other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education in a relevant Accounting program is preferred
- Prior achievement of the CPA designation (currently in good standing) and/or equivalent is an asset
- Minimum 10 years of Canadian public practice experience preparing financial statements with a heavy focus on Compilations, corporate and personal tax returns is required.
- Proven financial accounting and tax skills required to prepare T1s and T2’s, financial statements from start to finish, closing entries, account reconciliations, investments, HST, bookkeeping, payroll, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of CaseWare, Taxprep, QuickBooks Desktop and QBO is required; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel is also required.
- Experience with CCH iFirm and Portal is considered an asset.
- Reliable vehicle and good driving record are considered assets, as limited local travel may be required from time to time.
