LEAD/SENIOR CARPENTER & EXPERIENCED CARPENTER

New View Designs is growing, and we are looking for two skilled carpenters to join our construction team in the Fredericton area.

We specialize in high-quality custom homes and renovations. We are seeking dependable professionals who take pride in their workmanship, value an organized and respectful workplace, and are interested in opportunities for growth and advancement.

LEAD/SENIOR CARPENTER
$30.00–$35.00 per hour

This position is for an experienced Red Seal Carpenter who can take responsibility for work on site, guide crew members, and help keep projects progressing efficiently.

Required Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Carpenter certification
  • Extensive residential construction or renovation experience (minimum 3 years post Red Seal)
  • Strong knowledge of framing, exterior finishes, interior finishing, and general carpentry
  • Ability to read and work confidently from construction drawings
  • Ability to plan daily work, organize materials, and direct a small crew
  • Ability to anticipate issues and develop practical solutions
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • High standards for workmanship, job-site safety, and cleanliness
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work

Previous supervisory, lead-hand, or job-management experience is strongly preferred. Applicants must be prepared to demonstrate their ability to organize work, guide a crew, and manage assigned portions of a project.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • $30.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated ability
  • 6% vacation pay from the start of employment, paid on each paycheque equaling up to 3 weeks paid vacation
  • Three paid personal days annually following successful completion of the introductory employment period
  • Benefits available
  • Annual safety-footwear allowance of up to $250
  • Regular wage and performance reviews

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The successful Lead/Senior Carpenter will have the opportunity to progress into a Foreman position.

Advancement will be based on demonstrated leadership, project-management ability, workmanship, reliability, communication, and the operational needs of the company.

EXPERIENCED CARPENTER
$24.00–$29.00 per hour

This position is for a skilled and dependable carpenter who can complete a variety of residential construction and renovation work as part of a team.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Several years of hands-on residential carpentry experience
  • Experience with framing, siding, decks, renovations, and interior finishing
  • Ability to follow construction drawings, instructions, and company standards
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A professional, reliable, and solutions-focused approach
  • An interest in developing additional skills and taking on greater responsibility

Red Seal certification is preferred; however, applicants with extensive, well-rounded practical carpentry experience will also be considered.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • $24.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability
  • 4% vacation pay, paid on each paycheque equal to 2 weeks vacation
  • Two paid personal days annually following successful completion of the introductory employment period
  • Benefits available
  • Annual safety-footwear allowance of up to $250
  • Regular wage and performance reviews

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The successful Experienced Carpenter will have the opportunity to progress into a Lead Carpenter position.

Advancement will be based on demonstrated skill, initiative, reliability, leadership potential, and the ability to complete work independently to company standards.

REQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH POSITIONS

Applicants must:

  • Hold a valid driver’s licence
  • Have a reliable personal vehicle
  • Have their own basic hand tools
  • Be dependable, punctual, and ready to work
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site
  • Work respectfully with clients, coworkers, trades, and suppliers
  • Be physically capable of performing residential construction work
  • Follow company safety, timekeeping, and job-site procedures

A company vehicle is available for work-related travel and material pickups, depending on project assignments and operational requirements.

When an employee is authorized to use their personal vehicle for company business, mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
