Full job description

Modular Precast Systems is a new business in Bradford West Gwillimbury, ON. We are innovative, fast-paced, technologically advanced, and our goal is to provide the highest quality precast construction components for our customers.

JOB TITLE: Quality Control Manager

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

SALARY: $110,000 annually (subject to experience)

BENEFITS: Medical Benefits Plan (50/50 split), 15 days vacation (all after 3 months)

HOURS: May vary depending on productivity and product requirements

We are looking for individuals that have experiences in the construction production sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will oversee all aspects of quality control processes, develop, and implement procedures, and collaborate with your team to identify and resolve any quality-related issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintain standards of health and safety for self and others whilst at work and promote a strong safety culture across the quality team.

· Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor Quality Control Inspectors, ensuring consistent application of inspection standards and procedures

· Assign daily workloads and priorities to Quality Control Inspectors, and review their findings, reports, and data collection for accuracy and completeness

· Conduct performance reviews and identify training or development needs within the quality control team

· Establish and maintain quality standards, specifications, and inspection processes.

· Analyze internal and external feedback, complaints, and performance data to identify trends and areas of improvement.

· Develop and implement comprehensive quality control procedures to ensure consistent installation quality and customer satisfaction

· Oversee the collection and analysis of data and samples, ensuring methodologies remain accurate and consistent across inspectors

· Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in quality control practices, and implement relevant changes.

· Prepare and present regular reports on quality control metrics, performance trends, and improvement initiatives to management.

· Prepare daily and weekly reports on quality control metrics, performance trends, and improvement initiatives to management.

· Record NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and analyze root cause; provide recommendations and possible improvement plans to increase quality output

· Perform and/or assist in completing the following tests:

o Aggregate Bake Outs

o Slump Test

o Air Entrapment

o T50

o Segregation Test

o Packing Concrete Testing Cylinders

o Testing Concrete Cylinders for Strength

o Schmidt Hammer Test

· Ensure that the batching of concrete conforms to the required mix design

· Work with the Batch Plant Technician, providing information and feedback in the event of material and mix trials as a means of continuous improvement in both quality and cost.

· Ensure that the entire quality control team complies with all aspects of the MPS Quality Policies

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum 5 years experience in quality control in the construction sector

· Minimum 5 years experience in Canadian Construction working with Precast or Concrete

· Strong understanding of architectural drawings, shop drawings, and engineer specifications

· Ability to accurately read drawings and confirm measurements on concrete molds

· Understanding of anchoring points and lifting points for structural and architectural precast

· Strong understanding of reinforcement in structural concrete and architectural concrete panels, and its relationship to anchoring hardware and lifting hardware

· Experience performing various tests on concrete cylinders and recording outcomes

· Knowledge of CPCQA standards and procedures is welcomed

· Continuous improvement qualifications experience

· Auditing Awareness

· CPCQA or CSA Certification Awareness

· CQT or CQE accreditation

· Safety Certification (WHMIS, Working at Heights, 4 Step Health & Safety)

· Computer Skills

· Proficient in Office Suite

· Punctual and reliable

· Work well under pressure of meeting deadlines

· Attention to detail and resourceful

· Fluent in English

· Ability to work independently and with others as a team

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
