Job Summary

Love the mountains and want to start a career in the ski and bike industry? Join our Lift Operations team for winter 2026/27! Lift Operators help guests safely load and unload while delivering a welcoming resort experience. This active, outdoor role requires you to stay alert and work on your feet in all weather conditions. No skiing or snowboarding experience is required—there will be plenty of opportunities to discover a new sport. We’re looking for safety-minded team players who bring punctuality, dependability and a positive attitude. With more than 40 experienced operators returning, we’ll be hiring only 40 new team members this season. Come help us safely operate all 10 lifts!

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate your assigned lift, including daily start-up & shut-down procedures, and maintain loading/unloading ramps
  • Assist guests, including children, in loading and unloading from lifts
  • (In summer) Lift mountain bikes on and off of carriers
  • Comply with all company policies and safety procedures
  • Be spatially aware of your surroundings and work in a safe manner
  • Validate all guests’ tickets/passes and ensure no misuse or fraudulent activity
  • Complete tasks on daily checklists such as set up and take down of mazes, signs, etc.
  • Report on time, alert, and fit to work
  • Exhibit a positive, upbeat attitude
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and assist guests in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Maintain a respectable level of personal appearance and care for your issued uniform.
  • Additional duties as directed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Safety-oriented, energetic, friendly and sociable with a flair for customer service
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Able to work alone and follow instructions
  • Able to assist with team tasks
  • Physically able to bend, twist, sit, stand, and lift up to 23kg/50lbs
  • Passionate for the outdoors and able to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to ski/snowboard or be willing to learn. You will own your own equipment or be willing to buy gear (we offer great staff discounts on gear!).
  • Previous customer service and/or labour experience is asset.

Resort Conditions

Working at a Winter Resort means no two days are the same, and that's part of the adventure! You’ll get to experience a variety of unique locations, from cozy lodges to scenic mountain-top venues only accessible by chairlift. Be prepared to embrace the elements; whether it's bluebird skies, fresh snowfall, or the infamous coastal rain. Expect to navigate multi-level lodges, steep stairways, and outdoor areas where the terrain can be sloped, snowy, muddy, or slippery, so good footwear is essential, indoors and out. Walking through large, icy parking lots is also part of the daily journey. If you love fresh air, stunning views, and a workplace that keeps you on your toes, this is the spot for you!

Mt. Washington is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
