Overview

We are looking for an experienced Stone CNC Operator & Mapper/Programmer to join our production team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining Park Industries CNC equipment, preparing job files, mapping stone pieces, and ensuring finished products meet quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience in the stone industry, understands CNC stone fabrication, and is comfortable working with granite, quartz, marble, and similar materials.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD and Alpha Cam, and experience with blueprint reading. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on precision machining and manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Park Industries CNC machines, primarily Titan 1800 and Titan 2700
  • Assist with other equipment, including the Fusion 4045, when needed
  • Load and unload stone materials using vacuum lifters, carts, forklifts, or by hand when required
  • Set up CNC jobs, including vacuum pods, tooling, job files, and machine settings
  • Read and interpret templates, drawings, DXF files, and production details
  • Prepare and modify laser template files for production
  • Create and adjust files for mapping, cutting, and fabrication using Alphacam, Pathfinder, Touchstone, and related software
  • Set tool paths, adjust tooling parameters, and run job simulations
  • Check finished stone pieces for accuracy, quality, and consistency
  • Troubleshoot machine, tooling, water system, air system, mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic issues
  • Perform routine maintenance and request parts, tooling, and supplies as needed
  • Communicate with production, templaters, installers, sales, and management to clarify job details
  • Support the production team with related tasks when needed, such as material handling, quality checks, sink measuring, minor forklift work, or fabrication assistance
  • Follow all safety procedures and ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the stone industry is required
  • Experience with manual or machine stone fabrication
  • 3–5 years of experience operating or programming CNC machinery is preferred
  • Experience with Park Industries Titan, Fusion, Pathfinder, Touchstone, or Alphacam is a strong asset
  • Ability to read templates, technical drawings, measurements, and production notes accurately
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable using hand tools, measuring tools, and fabrication equipment
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; Stone Profits experience is an asset
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a production environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with production, templating, and installation teams
  • Forklift, crane, WHMIS, fall prevention, or machine safety training is an asset
  • Willingness to assist and coach other team members when needed

Ideal Candidate

You are reliable, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to solve problems calmly. You take pride in producing accurate, high-quality stone pieces and understand the importance of keeping production moving efficiently.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Physical Demands: The position will required the following physical activities on a regular basis; Standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing and handling. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Work Environment: Indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment. The typical noise level for this job is loud (85 decibels which may require ear protection to be worn). Manitoba Health states that ear protection must be worn at all times when current volumes are more than 85 decibels.

Physical Demands:

The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis; climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and handling.

Vision Requirements: Safety glasses when operating Machine or hand tools.

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
