Current openings: CNC Laser Operator - Full time with immediate selection and onboarding available

Location:  Hiring at our Chemainus location, 3528 Smiley Rd.

Wage: $32 - $40/hr

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will operate and maintain a Mazak laser cutting machine while ensuring high-quality production standards and efficient workflow. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of CNC laser operating experience. Experience with part nesting is considered an asset. The ideal applicant will be mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of performing routine machine maintenance and diagnostics.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate and monitor Mazak CNC laser cutting equipment safely and efficiently
• Interpret project requirements, work orders, and material specifications accurately
• Perform material nesting to align with weekly production requirements
• Set up machines, load materials, and verify correct tooling and cutting parameters
• Safely operate forklift and overhead crane in a shared work environment
• Label parts and package orders to correctly match production routing steps
• Troubleshoot machine issues, cutting defects, and operational problems independently
• Maintain production output targets while ensuring high-quality workmanship
• Inspect raw materials and finished components for defects or inconsistencies
• Maintain accurate production and maintenance records

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of forklift experience required (will in-house certify candidate)
• Good with repetitive tasks
• Organized with an outstanding attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in metal fabrication industry would be an asset
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• A positive attitude and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Punctual and reliable
• Able to stand for extended period
• Flexible individual with the ability to prioritize a changing workload
• Understanding of quality control procedures used during machine operation
• Able to meet tight deadlines in a repetitive, fast paced professional environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team, self-starter and energetic
• Understands or willing to learn material grade and types
