Job Summary
Scooters Transfer is the fastest growing trucking company in Grande Prairie. We get that drivers have lives too and are able to accommodate a variety of schedules. Need your weekends free or have your kids on a flexible schedule? We can accommodate your schedule and days off are just a request away. Our drivers are home more than 80% of nights and are never away for more than 2 nights consecutively. If you've got load securement and offroad experience, come join Scooters and move some pipe!

Benefits after 3 months

Employees are paid hourly, overtime applies after 10 hours or 50 hours per week, whichever is greater.

Contractors get 23% of the truck rate (approx $48-$55 straight time)

Duties

  • Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight efficiently and safely.
  • Operate digital log book in the Motive app
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload cargo, primarily drill pipe/casing ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or delays.
  • Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, routes, and any potential issues on the road.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving to ensure safety on the road.
  • Perform minor automotive repairs as needed to maintain vehicle functionality.
  • Operate heavy equipment and forklifts when necessary for loading and unloading tasks.

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
  • Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Forklift operation experience is advantageous for loading and unloading tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and dispatchers.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with regulations.
